Who I Am
![Carl, passionate about language learning and dedicated to helping others discover the joy of language](https://languagelocale.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Carl-300x300.jpeg)
Hi! I’m Carl, the creator and maintainer of this website. I’m a teacher in Australia, with a passion for languages that began during a school exchange trip to Germany. Over the past 10 years, I’ve continued learning German and expanded into Spanish and Latin, even dabbling in other languages like Polish. Today, I teach German to high school students (or specify your student demographic) and absolutely love it.
I believe that the beauty of languages and the diversity we see in our world are simply reflections of God. The idea that someone could live their entire life and never need to speak the language I speak, and vice versa, is incredible to me. While languages can also be messy and confusing, there is deep beauty within them, that I believe is by design, not by random chance.
The benefits of language learning are often overlooked or minimized and I would like to change that perspective. There are so many benefits to learning a language, and so many different ways to go about it. This website aims to collate some of this information together into one space for everyone to easily discover their passion for language learning.
Our Mission
I intend to make the idea of language learning accessible, manageable, and inspiring to those around the world.
It is easy to be intimidated by quick learners, those who have the resources, time, and ability to learn languages much faster than you.
This doesn’t mean your own language-learning journey isn’t valid or important. We aim to answer questions you may have about languages and language learning to get you inspired and motivated in what you are doing.
